In addition to teaching, I work as a freelance movement consultant. This can range from observing a run of a show or a scene and helping solve problems or issues with the movement already put in place by the director, to a more active role in a production where the director wants to use a lot of movement but needs or wants an additional creative brain to imagine and implement it. I am trained in fight choreography as well. I really enjoy movement consulting because I have a strong intuitive sense of how to create and focus meaning through movement on stage, and I enjoy the collaborative process .
As a movement teacher I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different educational settings. In Regionally I've taught a series of movement courses at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre School, and have also led workshops at The Kennedy Center, the University of Pennsylvania, Wilson High School, the Baltimore School for the Arts, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Miami of Ohio, and American University, and returned to teach a short course at Emory, my Alma Mater, among others. My classes and workshops are inspired by my training at Ecole Jacques Lecoq as well as training in Suzuki and Viewpoints, and my own aesthetic and physical sense of theatre and space.
