As the world faces major challenges and adjustments, I have decided to add another skill set to my arsenal: Teaching English as a Foreign Language. During the quarantine I studied and achieved a TEFL teaching certification with BRIDGE Education, completing a 120 hour course.

I'm excited to use my skills and long history of teaching theater to the realm of English Language learning. English is a complicated, fascinating, and extraordinarily useful language, and given the continued globalization of our world, a real necessity for many. In my travels I've encountered so many creative, intelligent, and strong people, and I have a driving desire to help people realize their visions, and for many that means an ability to communicate in English.
As I remain addicted to traveling and experiencing new cultures, this career is a great fit. I also would relish the opportunity to teach at schools around the world, as this would provide a very direct way to have both an impact on young learners and diverse communities, and grow my understanding and experience of other cultures.
I certainly believe that guiding students to grammar and syntax is important, but I believe my long history as a performer will help guide students towards confident communicators practically and creatively. I hope to maintain an engaging and enthusiastic approach which will imbue the students with confidence to Fail with confidence. What do I mean by Fail? I have seen that a frequent stumbling block is students concerns for being correct can lead to less effort and fear. But when they understand how taking risks and building on a base of language will lead them to having more confidence, they begin to Dare more, and I believe that this is the way forward to mastering any language.
